Mansa (Punjab): A youth of Bullada in the district first sent a friend request to a girl living in Philippines on Facebook. She accepted it. After a couple of rounds of routine exchanges, the youth started sending vulgar messages to her. The woman complained on the social media page of the Punjab police. As the complaint said that the man resides in Mansa district hence it was forward to the SP of the district.
The police traced the man and questioned him. He accepted that he was the sender of the vulgar content. The cops then asked him to make a video call to the woman and ask for an apology. The man did so.
The woman told the cops that if she receives such messages again, she would let them know but for now, she does not want to ruin the future of the man by lodging a formal complaint. The youth assured that he would not repeat his mistake and was let off after a warning.
Ramandeep Singh, in-charge of the Cyber Investigation team of the district police said that the action was taken on the instructions of the SP Mandhir Singh.
“Since the complainant did not show interest in pursuing the matter, hence we closed the case,” he said.
