Yesvantpur-Tatanagar Superfast train in Andhra catches fire, several trains delayed

New Delhi: A fire broke out in the pantry of Yesvantpur-Tatanagar Superfast Express train late on Monday night in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh. The train was on way to Jamshedpur in Jharkhand from Karnataka capital Bengaluru.

No injuries reported so far

The pantry car of the train was completely charred but no casualties have been reported from the incident so far. The fire broke out at around 2 am, but the cause and origin of the fire is yet to be ascertained.

Staff separate pantry car

The staff separated the pantry car, preventing the fire from spreading to the other bogies of the train. Before separating the pantry, the train staff tried to douse the fire, but were not successful.

Trains in Vijayawada-Vizag sector delayed

Trains in the Vijayawada-Vizag sector were delayed. However, train services resumed soon after. Police and railway officials are at the spot and conducting investigations into the mishap.
