Winter session of Parliament begins; TMC, Congress, Shiv Sena give Adjournment Motion Notice

New Delhi: Winter session of Parliament begins. The TMC has given Adjournment Motion Notice in Lok Sabha over the detention of National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla pays tribute to Arun Jaitley, Sushma Swaraj and Ram Jethmalani, all whom passed away this year. 

Govt is ready to discuss all issues, says PM: Prime Minister Narendra Modi this morning said the government is ready to discuss all issues in the winter session. The winter session is from November 18 to December 13.

Ahead of the Session, Prime Minister Modi said on Monday, “This is the last Parliament session of 2019. It is very important because this is the 250th Parliament session of the Rajya Sabha. During this session, on 26th, we will observe Constitution Day — when our Constitution completes its 70 years.”

“In the past few days, I had the opportunity to meet leaders of almost all political parties. The last session was phenomenal due to the support of and active participation all MPs, which is an achievement of not only the govt or the treasury bench but the entire Parliament.

“We want frank discussions on all matter. It is important that there should be quality debates, there should be dialogues and discussions, everyone should contribute to enrich the discussions in the Parliament,” he said.

Cong, Shiv Sena give Adjournment Motion Notice: While the Congress has given Adjournment Motion Notice in the Lok Sabha over ‘Instability in J&K post abrogation of Article 370’, the Shiv Sena has given Adjournment Motion Notice over loss of crops due to heavy rainfall in Maharashtra.
