On the occasion of Janmashtami, two popular artists of television, Sumedh Mudgalkar and Mallika Singh arrived at ISKCON Temple in Kanpur. This temple is believed to be the largest temple in Kanpur dedicated to Radha Krishna. Here Janmashtami is celebrated with a lot of fervour and zeal. Sumit and Mallika, popular on-screen Radha Krishna, celebrated this year’s Janmashtami at ISKCON Temple in Kanpur here.
During a conversation with Dainik Bhaskar, Sumedh said he used to break matkis as a child and he considers himself lucky that he got the chance to play Lord Krishna on television.
Have come to Kanpur’s ISKCON temple for first time: Sumedh Mudgalkar says to be honest, we never thought that we will get so much love in Kanpur, for the first time we are making Janmashtami at ISKCON Temple and seeing the love of the people here, we are happy that people are giving us so much love. We will try our best to live up to their expectations.
He said every time you do something, you are afraid that you could do anything wrong and when you see people’s love, then there is a feeling of satisfaction. Seeing their love, it seems that whatever we are doing is right and we should proceed in this way.
Never got the chance to play Radha’s role in childhood: Next Mallika Singh says, I have never celebrated Janmashtami so closely. Yes, I saw in my childhood how this festival is celebrated. Boys became Krishna and girls became Radha. But to be honest, I never became Radha. Did not get the chance. Now, when I got the chance I feel very happy. I enjoyed the way we celebrated Janmashtami in Kanpur. People here are very nice.
Our show was once cancelled: I still remember that when I signed this show, the only thing on my mind was that I would not get a chance to play this character again in my career. But our show was once cancelled. Today it has become very popular and I feel our hard work has paid.
Whatever I am today is due to blessings of Krishna: Sumedh said on the occasion of Janmashtami, we are definitely going to celebrate on the set. I do not know how big the celebrations will be right now, but yes I am going to do one thing on this occasion and that is to thank God Shri Krishna as soon as I wake up in the morning. Whatever I am today is due to blessings of Krishna.
Like to break matkis very much: I do not like Matkiya Foot, I still remember when we used to be small, when we used to break the Matkiya by making small shields, the fun of those days was something else. If we get the chance then we will definitely do Matki in our show. I have been a little but if I get a chance in real life too, I will definitely do this festival for me since childhood.
