Weather forecast: Heavy rainfall likely at isolated places in northeast states; Andhra & some other states may witness thunderstorm, says IMD

The  India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places over some of the northeast states like Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura. South Interior Karnataka and Kerala and Mahe may also receive heavy downpour.

The weather forecasting agency has good news for parched Andhra Pradesh (AP). The IMD has warned of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds (40-50 kmph) at isolated places over Rayalaseema in AP on Saturday.

Besides, states such as Jharkhand, Bihar, West Bengal, Sikkim, Odisha, Assam, and Meghalaya are also likely to witness thunderstorm and lightning Saturday.

Heatwave conditions in many parts with a severe heatwave in isolated pockets may persist over Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and West Rajasthan.
