Voter dies in Bengal as Trinamool and Congress workers clash, brisk voting in all states except J&K in third phase

New Delhi: Voting is going on for 117 seats in 15 states for the third phase of Lok Sabha elections.

By the 4 o’clock, the average 52% voters had cast vote. In West Bengal, 68% votes were cast.

Trinamool and Congress workers clashed at a polling station in Murshidabad, Bengal. A man standing in queue to vote was killed after clashes broke out between TMC and Congress workers. Unknown people threw a bomb at another booth in Bengal.

Earlier, voting was to be held on 114 seats in 14 states. Due to security reasons in the second leg, voting was postponed on the East Tripura seat. This seat has also been included in the third phase.

In 2014 BJP won 62 out of 117 seats, while Congress won 15.

Voting on the seats of Amit Shah, Rahul Gandhi and Mulayam Singh Yadav took place today.

Voting on the Lok Sabha seats of Varun Gandhi, Shashi Tharoor, Mehbooba Mufti, Supriya Sule also took place in this phase.
