Firozabad: On the Agra-Lucknow Expressway in Uttar Pradesh, a double-decker bus collided with a truck parked on the roadside on Wednesday night. 16 people were killed in the accident, while 29 passengers were injured. The condition of three of them is critical.
The bus was going from Delhi to Motihari in Bihar. There were about 50 passengers, including bus driver and conductor. The accident occurred near Bhadan village on the border of Firozabad and Etawah district.
Bus collided with parked truck: SSP Sachindra Patel said that the private sleeper bus crashed into the truck parked on the expressway at 10 pm. After the truck was punctured, its driver was standing on the roadside and changing the tyre. Then this accident happened. The accident was so overwhelming that the front of the bus was completely damaged.
He said that the bus was removed through a crane. Investigations so far have revealed that the speed of the bus was very high. Maybe the bus driver was drunk. The accident occurred due to a bus driver’s mistake. The bus driver has also died in this.
The number of dead could increase: The injured have been admitted to Saifai’s Medical College. Medical officer Dr. Vishwa Deepak told that 13 people were brought dead. Three people succumbed during treatment. There is a possibility that the number of dead could increase. 11 dead have been identified. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given instructions for the proper treatment of the injured.
