Two jobless differently-abled youths consume poison at state secretariat in Bhopal

Bhopal: Two jobless Divyang (differently abled) youths in Madhya Pradesh, who had come to meet the chief minister, consumed poison at the state secretariat building in Bhopal on Thursday. After consuming poison, the youths raised an alarm and were subsequently rushed to a hospital where their condition is reported to be out of danger though doctors have kept them under observation for 72 hours.

Ramnivas, 28, son of late Girivar Sehriya and Sultan, 30, son of Dewan, both residents of Pulkapura, Ghatigon region near Gwalior, had long been trying for jobs. Their family members alleged that despite repeated attempts, they were not given any hearing at the local level.

Were declared ineligible at recruitment campaign

Last year, the state government had organised a special recruitment campaign for the Divyangs. Ramniwas had also applied but was declared ineligible. After that, both of them tried to become self-employed by taking advantage of the government schemes at the local level, but could not get any help.

At around 3 pm on Thursday, the youths started shouting. They said they had consumed poison. They were rushed to JP Hospital and from there referred to Hamidia Hospital.
