Tit-for-tat? Right wing workers opposing Valentine’s Day cane-charged in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: Bajrang Dal and VHP workers were cane-charged by cops in Jamshedpur when they were on way to Jubilee Park to oppose Valentine’s Day. City SP Prabhat Kumar himself thrashed the right-wing activists forcing them to run helter-skelter About 100 VHP and Bajrang Dal workers were stopped by cops near Sakchi Sheetla mandir.

CSP was infuriated when workers used abusive language

Police force was deployed at Jubilee Park. They were led by CSP Prabhat Kumar. Cops did not allow the workers to enter inside the park. Meanwhile someone in the crowd used abusive language for the cops. This infuriated the CSP and on his orders the cops lathi-charged the workers. The fleeing workers were chased and beaten up. City SP took a cane from a constable and rained blows on the workers. Some workers were injured in the lathi-charge.

Later, Bajrang Dal and VHP supporters met CSP at his office and urged him to release their vehicles that had been seized by the cops. They said they were going to register only symbolic opposition to Valentine’s Day celebrations.

At Telco town’s HUDCO, the young couples were chased away by workers of Hindu Jagran Manch. They also shouted slogans against Valentine’s Day.
