Tiger killed by electrocution in Madhya Pradesh’s Satna, forest officials quizzing villagers

Satna: A tiger was poached in Dharkundi area in Madhya Pradesh’s Satna district. After the incident, some villagers were taken in custody and are being quizzed. The tiger had reportedly hunted a calf in Amirti village. The incident took place on Sunday evening.

According to forest department officials, a tiger was killed by electrocution near Amirti village under Majhgaon forest circle. Forest department officials have seized the tiger’s body and confirmed that it was killed by electrocution.

A team of the forest department has reached the spot and launched investigations. The post-mortem of the big cat will be conducted in the presence of forest department officials and veterinary doctors.

Tiger poaching cases on the rise in state

The incidents of tiger poaching are on the rise in the state and have been reported regularly during the last few months. However, the forest department is unable to take any effective measure. Earlier a tiger had died under suspicious circumstances in state’s Ratapani Sanctuary.
