Katni: A tiger plunged into a well in Katni in MP on Tuesday here. A team of Forest Department reached the spot immediately who called another team to initiate a rescue operation. The tiger cub was rescued after nearly three hour operation. Officials said the cub was safe.
According to a forest official, “Early morning we received information about the incident and immediately a team was sent to the spot with strict instructions. The team was asked to clear the people from the area as animals are prone to panic attacks if people are around and they also tend to hurt themselves.”
Veterinarians are now examining the health of the cub. Efforts will be made to reunite it with its mother if the cub is fit and healthy. Locals said a tigress and her cubs were roaming in the nearby forests for the last few days.
