This 66-year-old Punjab man races with his horse every day

Batala: At the age of 66, when it is hard for people to even walk due to knee pain and other physical ailments, Balwant Singh of Talwandi Ziyuran in Batala district of Punjab runs for two kilometers every day with his horse.

Covers 31 km in 90 minutes

He is so fit that he reaches runs to Gurdaspur, 31 kilometers away from his village, and reaches there in just one-and-a-half hours. He has more than 100 medals and trophies in his kitty. His horse and dog are so trained that he runs with them.

Nicknamed Balwant Ghora

He does not have to hold the horse with a rope while running. People call him by the name of Balwant Ghora (Ghora means horse). Although he runs so much, he never goes out of breath. Balwant Singh was fond of running from childhood.

Bagged Rs 5,100 prize in BSF race

At the age of 18, he started playing kabaddi, but left it soon after. Recently, he bagged top place in the BSF race held at Attari border and won a prize of Rs 5,100. He bagged third place in a race in Mumbai. He has also participated in races in Mumbai, Lucknow, Allahabad, Haryana, Chandigarh, Jalandhar, Amritsar, Delhi, Gurgaon, Patiala and Sangrur.
