‘The Fakir of Venice’, ‘Amavas’ flop making it a disaster weekend for Bollywood box-office

Mumbai: Last Friday turned out to be one of the most disastrous weekends for Hindi box-office. None of the films managed to make a mark and had an utterly poor run at the box office.

A total of 8 small budget films released last Friday — The Fakir Of Venice, Amavas, Dosti ke Side effectss, Jhol, S.P Chauhan, End Counter, Parking Closed, and Khandala Night. All of them turned out to be super disasters.

Film trade analyst Narendra Gupta says, “All these movies have flopped badly. It was a disaster weekend. Even Farhan Akhtar-starrer Fakir of Venice didn’t create any impression. The only film to collect a little money was Amavas which made roughly around Rs 2 crore.”

Meanwhile, Uri continued to make merry by crossing Rs 200 crore. The movie has made a total of Rs 207 cr till date. Narendra Gupta said, “Uri made Rs 12 cr in the 5th weekend which is the highest for any Hindi film.”

Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi has made Rs 81 cr while Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga made Rs 16 cr till now.
