Swara Bhaskar, Gauahar Khan advocate for #TalkToAMuslim

New Delhi: A new social media movement — #TalkToAMuslim — which encourages Indians to shun hatred and communicate with their Muslim friends, has found support from Bollywood celebrities like Swara Bhasker, and Gauhar Khan.

The movement called ‘Talk To A Muslim’ encourages Indian citizens to avoid hatred and communicate with Muslim friends. #TalkToAMuslim has found resonance among netizens across all communities and faiths.

“#TalkToAMuslim seriously didn’t think a day would come where talking to a muslim leader or a commoner would question ur patriotism or ur belief in ur own faith!!by land I am a Hindu ,by faith I am a Muslim and by heart n soul INDIAN is my identity !!! #killThehate #spreadlove,” Gauahar Khan tweeted, sharing a picture a placard that read, “I AM AN INDIAN MUSLIM I AM HUMAN TOO !!! YOU CAN TALK TO ME.”

#TalkToAMuslim is presently a top trend on Twitter. Besides Indians, Pakistani nationals are also participating in the movement.

Swara Bhasker, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Farhan Akhtar and others had previously popularised a similar movement protesting against the Kathua rape and murder case in Jammu and Kashmir. A protest march seeking justice for the minor victim was also attended by Bollywood celebrities in Mumbai.
