New Delhi: Rajnikanth, the one and only superstar who belongs to all woods turned a year older today — 68. In 1973, he began acting in plays while working in the Bangalore Transport Service as a bus conductor.
Sun Pictures, on Wednesday, shared the teaser of the actor’s upcoming film Petta on his birthday. The one and a half minute teaser is packed with Thalaiva’s swag — his entry, welcomed by a crowd dancing with garlands reminds one of Rajinikanth’s larger than life appearance. The Petta teaser ends on Rajinikanth’s signature style of wearing his sunglasses.
The teaser has crossed 2 lakh likes on Youtube and have around 2 million views within a few hours. Set to release on Pongal 2019, the film also stars Vijay Sethupathi, Trisha, Simran, Megha Akash, Malavika Mohanan and Sasikumar in key roles.
In Petta, which has been produced by Sun Pictures, Rajinikanth is rumoured to be playing a professor with a violent past.
Rajinikanth’s power-packed film 2.0 is presently performing well across the country. After the second weekend, the film is now the fourth highest grossing film ever in India with Bahubali – The Conclusion (1430 crore), Bahubali – The Beginning (516 crores) and Dangal (512 crores) ahead of it.
