Ujjain: Devotees traveling to Ujjain’s Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga temple are in for a surprise as the Minister of State for Railways, Manoj Sinha, has initiated the process of setting up ticket booking counters inside the temple itself.
Following his visit to the temple on Monday, Sinha sent in a proposal about the same, to the Railway Board for approval.
During his visit, Sinha spent thirty minutes inside the sanctum performing aarti alongside Madhya Pradesh Prof. Chintamani Malviya and the state DRM RN Sunkar. Sinha had visited the Mahakaleshwar temple on Monday morning before returning to Indore.Sinha was on his way to present the MR (Ministry of Railway) awards to be held in Bhopal.
This visit by Sinha put an end to the 22-month run of him being away from the city. On June 29, 2016, he had launched two new lifts and Wifi service on the railway platforms at the Ujjain station. After the event, Ujjain became the first station in the Ujjain-Ratlam region to have a lift facility.
Additionally, Sinha said that IRCTC has been entrusted with the duty of developing tourist spots across the state with railway connectivity for the tourists and visitors. He added that the travelers will be given information about nearby tourist spots, while their train halts at respective stations across MP.
