Six die as car ploughs into paedestrians in central China

Beijing: The driver of a car in China drove into a crowd, killing six and injuring seven others. The driver of the car was shot dead by the police. The incident took place in Zaoyang City in central China’s Hubei Province at around 6 a.m. Friday local time.

The motive of the attack is not clear and the identity of the attacker has not yet been revealed. The seven injured have been hospitalised.

Phone videos were shared on Chinese social media after the incident showing panicked people running around, and bystanders helping the injured.
