Sidharth Malhotra-starrer Vikram Batra biopic to go on floor in April

Mumbai: The year 2019 seems to be quite a busy one for Sidharth Malhotra. The actor is busy shooting for Milap Zaveri directirial Marjaavaan that features actors like Rakul Preet Singh, Tara Sutaria and Riteish Deshmukh.

News is that after this film, Sid will begin shooting for his much talked about film — army officer Vikram Batra’s biopic. The project is set to go on floor in April and the shooting will commence in Chandigarh.

As per news sources, Sid will start off shooting the college portions at DAV College where Vikram studied. From there on the shoot will move to Palampur where the Captain resided with his family. The war potions will be shot in Kashmir and Leh towards the end of the year. For the same, he will be training with real army men.

It’s said that the yet-untitled film will be called Kargil’s Sher Shah, which was the title given to the officer in the intercepted messages of the Pakistan army.

Sidharth, who played a double role in A Gentleman that co-starred Jacqueline Fernandez, is all set to hit the repeat mode once again. He will also be playing Vikram’s twin brother, Vishal in this war film. 

Co-produced by Dharma Productions and Shabbir Boxwala, and directed by debutante Vishnu Varadhan the film revolves around Captain Vikram Batra who was 24 when he died in the Kargil war. He was awarded the Param Vir Chakra, India’s highest military honour posthumously.
