Shilpa Shetty and family in soup over dad’s loan repayment

Mumbai: A money lender named Parhad Amra has taken legal action against Shilpa Shetty, her sister Shamita and mother Sunanda. As per news sources, Shilpa’s father Surendra had taken a loan of Rs 21 lakh from the lender to fund a business. While he took the money in 2015, he was supposed to return it with interest in 2017, however, Surendra died in 2016.

Amra claims that Surendra had informed him that his wife Sunanda and daughters Shilpa and Shamita were partners in the said company and were aware of the transaction between them. However, his repeated pleas to them (the Shetty family) did not yield any result, and thus Amra approached his lawyers. Their matter will come up for hearing in the Metropolitan Magistrate Court on January 29.

Giving her side of the story, Shilpa told a tabloid that she never had any involvement in her late father’s business, and has no knowledge at all of the financial dealings of the company. She also said that the complainant is misleading the media and she only knows him as their family car mechanic.
