Shahrukh Khan still a part of ‘Don 3’?

Casting for Don 3 continues to puzzle many. While speculations are rife that Shahrukh Khan has opted out of Don 3 citing personal reasons, we hear that is not entirely true yet. Furthermore, sources say that Ranveer has not yet given his go- ahead for Don 3.

“Shahrukh Khan has not declined Don 3. There is a delay because the makers are yet to lock in the right script for part 3. They will be approaching SRK for a narration only after they have a bound script and proper screenplay in hand. Don as a franchise is synonymous with SRK and producers don’t want anyone else to step into King Khan’s shoes as it would not go down well with the fans,” said a source.

Meanwhile, we hear the rumour about Ranveer Singh having been approached by Zoya Akhtar turned out to be untrue after the filmmaker herself termed the rumour as nonsense. We hear that this time around Don 3 will have a new director and Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani are apparently planning to give the reins to Zoya Akhtar.

Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh ,who was rumoured to be part of the film for a long time ,has also denied that he is doing the film. The actor has apparently stated that the franchise belongs to Shah Rukh Khan. It is said that Ranveer, who is busy preparing for his upcoming film 83, based on Indian Cricket Team’s World Cup victory in 1983. Apart from this he also has to start work on Takht, where he will be seen playing a role of Dara Shikoh. Post playing a villain Alauddin Khilji in Padmavaat last year, he is not too keen to play negative character once again in his upcoming projects. Reportedly this is one of the reasons why he chose to do period drama Takht as his character apparently has no gray shades.
