Salman Khan won’t be singing instead of Pak singer Atif Aslam in ‘Notebook’: Director Nitin Kakkar

In the aftermath of the deadly Pulwama attack, the makers of Notebook had announced that a song from the film, Main Taare, sung by Pakistani singer Atif Aslam, will be re-recorded. Soon, news arrived that Salman Khan, who’s producing the film, will sing the song instead.

Interestingly, Salman had done playback for the song Main Hoon Hero Tera in Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty-starrer Hero. So this move looked apt. However, the director of the film, Nitin Kakkar, informed that Salman hasn’t been finalised for the part.

While talking to Dainik Bhaskar, Kakkar said, “Salman’s news was only a speculation. We still don’t know who will sing the number. We are still testing voices. We haven’t tested Salman’s voice yet. In a week we will take a call.”

The film starring yesteryear actress Nutan’s granddaughter and Mohnish Bahl’s daughter Pranutan and debutante Zaheer Iqbal is apparently a remake of Thai film Teacher’s Diary (2014). It releases on March 29.
