Saina Nehwal and Parupalli Kashyap – newest sporting match in town – to marry soon

Badminton players Saina Nehwal and Parupalli Kashyap are set to get married by the end of this year as per TOI reports. The marriage would take place on December 16, and be attended by about 100 people, with a grand reception on December 21.

“Both families had been planning the wedding for a while. They have now finalised the date. The arrangements are all for December 16,” a source was quoted as saying by TOI.

Both the badminton players have been training under Pullela Gopichand since 2005. The couple are supposedly dating for the past decade.

Saina is currently playing in the Korea Open. She has won 20 major titles, an Olympic bronze and a silver at the World Championships. She recently won a bronze medal in the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta. Saina had earlier spoken about Kashyap’s role in motivating her after she won the Commonwealth Games singles gold in Gold Coast.

Kashyap reached the highs of a World No 6 ranking before injuries curbed his rise in men’s badminton.

Saina, 28 and Kashyap, 32 will be joining the league of sporting matches after Dipika Pallikal-Dinesh Karthik, Ishant Sharma-Pratima Singh and wrestlers, Geeta Phogat-Pawan Kumar and Sakshi Malik-Satyawart Kadian.
