New Delhi: Co-director of Netflix’s first ever Indian web-series, Anurag Kashyap took to Instagram on Tuesday afternoon to share the success story of Sacred Games.
As per IMDB, Sacred Games is ranked the sixth most popular TV show in the world, and is also numbered 25 among all time top rated shows.
He shared a screenshot and captioned the photo, “On IMDB #sacredgames jumps 52 to positions to be at number 6 in most popular tv shows in the world at the moment.”
Sahring another photo he wrote, “And at number 25 of all time top rated shows .. right behind Fargo #sacredgames”
Sacred Games is based on the novel of the same name by Vikram Chandra. Directed by Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane, the series stars Nawazuddin Siddqui and Saif Ali Khan, and has Radhika Apte, Kubra Sait, Rajshri Deshpande, Neeraj Kabi, Jitendra Joshi in pivotal roles.
It released on the streaming platform on July 6 this year, and has received rave reviews from critics and viewers alike. Lately, the series received a lot of backlash over the dialogue of Ganesh Gaitonde on former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. It racked up three separate complaints across India, two of which are from Congress activists.
