Jaipur: The health department in Rajasthan has not been successful in checking the spread of swine flu. The state tops in the number of positive cases of dengue and swine flu in the country.
Highest 37 deaths in Jodhpur, 838 positive cases in Jaipur
So far the deadly flu has claimed 83 lives in the state. The number of positive cases has reached 2123. On Thursday, three patients succumbed to the flu, while 78 positives were identified.
80 dengue cases in January
Similarly, 80 cases of dengue have come to the fore in the state in January alone. In Jaipur alone, 64 dengue cases have been detected. Besides 10 cases in Kota and three each in Bundi and Karauli were found. Seventy malaria cases have also been identified in the state in January.
Among the 70 malaria cases in the state, highest 30 cases were found in Udaipur, 8 in Dungarpur, 6 in Bara, 4 in Pratapgarh, 2 in Chittorgarh and 1 each in Sawai Madhopur, Hanumangarh and Nagor.
Dr Ravi Prakash Mathur, additional director, health, said diseases like dengue, malaria, scrub typhus spread after the rainy season. Concerned officers have been directed to take remedial measures, he added.
