Rajasthan: Family was grief-stricken after son’s death but villagers consoled them not with soothing words alone

Jodhpur: When tragedy struck a family at a village in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, the people who had come to offer their condolences decided to help the bereaved family in a unique way instead of just sympathising with them. Often words are not enough to help a grief-stricken family.

Recently 18-year-old son of Bhuralal Paliwal, resident of village Dayakaur in Jodhpur, passed away in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. Ganpatram had gone there to meet his brother but suddenly fell ill and died.

The villagers and relatives consoled the family members.

Meanwhile, the wheat and cumin crop in their field was ready for harvest and the weather department had issued warning for rain and thunderstorm in the next few days.

This meant that the crop must be harvested without delay. People who had come to console the family decided to do something about it. On Saturday about 100 villagers worked whole day and harvested the entire crop.

When Ganpat’s family members saw them working, tears flowed down their eyes. No words of sympathy had soothed them so much as when they saw so many people working in the field for them.
