Jodhpur: The Rajasthan Government, on Monday, filed an appeal in the High Court against the acquittal of film actors Saif Ali Khan, Sonali Bendre, Neelam and Tabbu in the black bucks poaching case. The appeal may come up for hearing this week.
Sonali Bendre is suffering from cancer and is under treatment in the USA.
On April 5 2018, CJM (Rural). Jodhpur Dev Kumar Khatri had sentenced Salman Khan to five years’ simple imprisonment, while acquitting Saif, Sonali, Neelam, Tabbu and Dushyant Singh. The Prosecution Directorate of the government had cleared the proposal to challenge the decision recently. Assistant Advocate General SK Vyas filed the appeal.
Sonali and others were charged with inciting Salman Khan to fire at black bucks in the midnight of October 2, 1998. After the decision of the court, the government has asked the Prosecution Directorate to probe whether the case for fit for appeal.
