Prithvi Shaw may get to debut in Test cricket, and replace KL Rahul

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he India under-19 skipper Prithvi Shaw, who led the team to a world cup triumph earlier this year may soon get a chance to debut his international test career in the fifth and final test match against England in oval.

The team management is particularly disappointed with out-of-form KL Rahul who has played four consecutive test matches in England and failed to score any significant runs in them, reports TOI.

Shaw joined the Indian team before the fourth Test in Southampton and has been having regular net sessions on the sidelines of the game. He has played just 14 first-class matches and scored 1,398 runs in them, his debut first-class test match was against Tamil Nadu on January 1, 2017. Besides this, he also opens the innings for Delhi Daredevils in the IPL.

With India having already lost the series 3-1 to England, it will be interesting to see whether the team management gives the opportunity to young Shaw to leave his mark or chooses to give another chance to the very talented Rahul to recover from what is turning out to be a fatal test series for him.
