Presence of sexual predators has forced me to avoid Bollywood: ‘Besharam’ actress Pallavi Sharda on #MeToo

Popularly known as the Besharam (Ranbir Kapoor starrer) actress, Pallavi Sharda was seen in Bollywood films like Love Breakups Zindagi, Heroine, Begum Jaan, among others. The actress, who made her debut in Bollywood in 2010 with My Name Is Khan, has only acted in a handful of Hindi films. Interestingly, she was also seen in Australian movies like Save Your Legs and Lion.

Amidst the #MeToo movement in Bollywood, Pallavi is the latest one to open up about her ordeal. In fact she says that it is because of this that she avoids looking for work in Bollywood.

While talking to a publication, Pallavi mentioned that there’s no woman who’s entered the industry and hasn’t had to deal with the fear or the actual act of it. She also mentioned that it’s so prevalent and is there very much at the base that you can’t even choose to ignore it. She says that it is for this reason – the presence of sexual predators – in the Hindi film industry that she has cut down on work in Bollywood. The actress also mentions that she wants to share incidents regarding the same but is waiting for the right time.
