‘Pray for your recovery’ : PM Modi on Karunanidhi’s declining health

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday revealed that he has enquired about DMK patriarch M Karunanidhi’s health from his son MK Stalin as the Veteran leader underwent treatment at his house in Chennai, owing to decline in health.

Apart from Stalin, PM Modi also spoke to the Karunanidhi’s daughter Kanimozhi and offered all help from his side.

In tweets, Mr Stalin also paid tribute to his father and said he had overturned “countless obstacles” into accomplishments.

“Karunanidhi has overturned countless obstacles, failures and betrayals into accomplishments. Let’s follow his footsteps. Karunanidhi has spent 80 years in public life, 70 years in cinema and arts, 50 years as DMK Chief,” Mr Stalin tweeted.

Karunanidhi is under doctors’ watch due to urinary tract infection with intravenous antibiotics and fluids.

Since yesterday, a stream of politicians has been visiting the 94-year-old DMK chief, who has been unwell for more than a year and has been tube-fed for some time. His family has reportedly decided against admitting him in hospital and wants his treatment at his home in Gopalapuram.
