PM Narendra Modi, Speaker Om Birla, others, pay their last respects to Sheila Dikshit

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi pays tribute to former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit who passed away today, due to a cardiac arrest.

Earlier, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla also visited the former CM’s residence to pay his last respects.

Others who paid tribute were Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia and Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party leader and former Union minister Vijay Goel. 

Former President Pranab Mukherjee paid tribute to former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit.

2-day state mourning in Delhi: Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said that the Delhi government has decided to declare two-day state mourning over the demise of former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit.

Mortal remains of Sheila Dikshit brought to her residence: Mortal remains of Sheila Dikshit were brought to her residence in Nizamuddin.

Ahmed Patel, Congress, on her last rites: “It will be decided tomorrow morning when to take it to Congress headquarters, then it will be taken to Nigam Bodh Ghat.”
