New Delhi: As things are expected to escalate in the Super Four clash between India and Pakistan, there is going to be an ambassador of peace in the stands, who will watch the two neighbours play an important fixture in Asia cup 2018. Adil Taj, who was seen singing the Indian national anthem, in a viral video during the group stage match between the two teams, revealed that he is planning to carry the flags of both nations in the upcoming match to send a message of peace across the border.
In the video, which has been widely shared on various social media platforms, the fan with the Pakistan flag draped around his neck, is seen singing the Indian national anthem word to word. Later on, his name was revealed and Adil Taj opened up as to why he sang the Indian national anthem. In an interview with ANI, Adil said, ”I saw some Indian fans respecting the Pakistani national anthem and standing for it, listening to it carefully. This is when the idea of Pakistani PM Imran Khan clicked in his mind that if India makes one step towards Pakistan, we (Pakistan) will initiate two steps towards them. That’s when I decided to sing the Indian national anthem as a mark of respect. I tried my best to sing it correctly.”
India and Pakistan are set to face each other for the second time in Asia Cup 2018 as both teams will try to consolidate their position and proceed to the finals of the tournament in their second Super Four match itself. Both teams won their first Super Four match against Afghanistan and Bangladesh.
