Prerna Arora, producer of films like ‘PadMan’ and ‘Pari’, has come out of jail on bail. She was in jail for the past nearly 8 months in a fraud case. According to reports, Mumbai Economic Offense Wing (EOW) had arrested Protima, director of production house KriArj Entertainment Pvt Ltd and promoter Arjun Kapoor, besides Prerna Arora, in a fraud case worth Rs 3.16 crore. According to police, the three had borrowed money from producer Vashu Bhagnani for ‘Padman’ and ‘Kedarnath’, but did not return it later.
Apologise to all after coming out of jail
Prerna told in an interview that she had come out of jail on 16 September. But after reaching home, she maintained a low profile. She says, “After coming out of prison I went to some temple. I started believing in God. I apologize to all those who I inadvertently caused trouble. I would just like to say that I now realise what the true values of life are. I thank my parents for standing with me in this difficult period.”
No ill-will towards Vashu Bhagnani
Prerna goes on to say, “I don’t know what to say. I don’t have any problem with Vashu. It was a mistake I made. If there was a big mentor around me, things wouldn’t have gone so wrong. But now I am back and will continue to do filmmaking. I will take some time to settle down. But I am not going anywhere now.”
Understood value of money and time in jail
“I learned many things in jail. I learned the value of money and time. I underwent many changes. I will talk in detail soon, but when the time is right,” said Prerna.
