Raipur: The Election Commission of India is going to introduce a ‘Queue Management System’ for facilitating voters in the coming Assembly elections in Chhattisgarh. It will allow the people to know how many voters are waiting in the queue at their polling booth in real-time. It would help them decide when to set out to cast their vote.
The system will operate along the lines of ‘Spot Your Train’ information system used by the Indian Railways.
The information will be available on the website of the State Chief Electoral Officer. The voters will only need to know the number of location of their polling booth. At one click, they will be able to know the number of voters who have cast their votes in their booth up to that point in time as also how many are waiting in queue. “This is a new feature devised to help the voters save their time,” a CEO office spokesperson said.
