Nimrat said, “In childhood I had a lot of love for theater, creative arts and acting. I still remember that I wanted to be an actor in childhood. But as time went on, I became interested in the study of law. Whenever I looked at lawyers I felt these are the people who fight for the rights of others. I studied law and did not give much thought to my creative side. I thought the acting would happen anytime but for now, I have to become a lawyer. When I completed my degree, at that time, I had 2 options – lawyer’s job and of a Miss India beauty contest. To be honest, without thinking, I participated in a beauty contest and today I am acting.”
She further explains, “I always listened to my heart and at that time, I felt that if I get recognition in a field it would be a little easier for me to put my views before the society. I want to do something for society. That is why I have left the lawyer’s work and chose acting. I am also very interested in politics and Smriti Irani is my ideal. Maybe a few years later, I would become a politician and serve society.”
Nimrat’s father was an army officer and due to his transfers she has lived in 18 cities in the country so far. She won the title of Femina Miss India Manipur in 2018
