Mumbai Police Twitter handle uses F.R.I.E.N.D.S song assuring citizens

New Delhi: Mumbai has been witnessing heavy rainfall over the past few days now, with several parts of the city flooded. The downpour has caused severe waterlogging, affected trains services, flights flying in and out of the city, and have also indirectly caused some Mumbaikars to lose their lives due to accidents.

While Mumbaikars are having trouble dealing with the impact of rains, Mumbai Police took to Tweeter to lighten up the mood. The tweet used the F.R.I.E.N.D.S. theme song to put across their message. “Right here. For you Mumbai. Always. #MumbaiFirst,” read the tweet.

And along attached was a short video, showing police personnel busy with their duty during the rains. You can read the slightly modified lyrics from the famous F.R.I.E.N.D.S. theme song: “We’ll be there for you, when the rain starts to pour. We’ll be there for you, like we’ve been there before.” in subtitled form.

The actual lyrics of the popular song goes like this:

So no one told you life was gonna be this way
Your job’s a joke, you’re broke, your love life’s D.O.A.
It’s like you’re always stuck in second gear
When it hasn’t been your day, your week, your month, or even your year, but

I’ll be there for you
(When the rain starts to pour)
I’ll be there for you
(Like I’ve been there before)
I’ll be there for you
(‘Cause you’re there for me too)…

So far Mumbai has received five times the normal amount of rain ever since Monsoon arrived early. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis assured that the Navy and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) are on standby.

School principals in the city have been advised to assess the situation in their areas and take a call on closure of schools, Maharashtra Education Minister Vinod Tawde tweeted earlier:
