Miscreants uproot, carry away ATM machine with Rs 13.7 lakh cash in Rohtak

Rohtak: Unknown miscreants uprooted an ATM machine at the main bus stand of Ismaila village in Haryana’s Rohtak district on Saturday. They carried away the ATM machine in a car.

The ATM had Rs 13.66 lakh cash. On Sunday morning the villagers learnt about the incident when they saw the broken shutter of the ATM booth.

Subsequently the bank management and the police were informed. On the basis of the CCTV footage, the police concluded that the suspects uprooted the ATM and carried it away in just 16 minutes.

No guard at ATM booth

There was no guard at the ATM booth. AGM Company, the firm responsible for operating the ATM, said the file had been sent to the bank for the deployment of a guard but the bank had not given its approval yet. Police have registered a case against the unknown persons.

CCTV footage also revealed that a police patrol vehicle passed by the ATM booth only 40 minutes before the incident. It passed by the booth at 1.49am. The Scorpio of the suspects is seen coming towards the booth at 2.13am. At 2.28am they are seen carrying away the ATM.
