Raipur: A resident of Ramnagar in the Kawardha district of Chhattisgarh, late on Sunday night, wrote on his Facebook wall that if the chief minister Dr Raman Singh does not do his bidding while distributing party tickets for the upcoming assembly elections in the state, the chief minister would be eliminated.
The youth Gyanendra Chandravanshi, addressing the chief minister, wrote, “Raman Singh, field me from Padaria constituency and also distribute tickets as per my wish or I would eliminate you.”
As soon as the post became public, the police got cracking. Chandravanshi was picked up from his residence and was brought to the Kotwali police station at Kawardha.
In his FB post, he also sought tickets for particular individuals from three other constituencies and told the chief minister that he would have to provide them funding for contesting the elections. “I will blow you up if you don’t give them money.”
He also mentioned his two mobile numbers on his FB wall. Maheshwar Nag, SP of the district said that the police have registered an FIR and are probing the case. “A death threat was issued to the chief minister. The accused has been arrested,” he said.
