Maharashtra Accident/ Nine college students die after their car rams into truck near Pune

Pune: Nine college students were killed after their car rammed into a truck on the Pune-Solapur Highway in Pune in the early hours of Saturday, police said.

The accident took place around 1.30 am near Kadamwak Wasti. All the deceased were from the Yavat village of Pune. They used to study in the same college. They were returning from Raigarh and heading to their hometown Yavat, towards Solapur. Their car rammed into an approaching truck.

All the nine occupants of the car, who were in the age group of 19-23 years, were killed in the accident.

The deceased students have been identified as Akshay Bharat Vikar, Vishal Subhash Yadav, Nikhil Chandrakant Vabale, Sonu alias Nur Mahmud Abbas Daaya, Parvez Ashpak Attar, Shubham Ramdas Bhise, Akshay Chandrakant Ghige, Datta Ganesh Yadav and Zuber Aziz Mawani.

“Their bodies have been sent for postmortem and the matter is being investigated,” the police said.
