Madhya Pradesh: Woman beaten to death by homeguard jawan in Chhatarpur district for not giving mangoes for free

Chhatarpur: A homeguard jawan beat up a woman to death in Chhatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday morning after she allegedly refused to give him mangoes for free.

The deceased’s sister-in-law who tried to intervene was also beaten up by the jawan. The accused is absconding after committing the crime.

Vimla, a resident of Panagar village under Pipat police station of the district, had gone to the market with her sister-in-law Mohini to see mangoes. They had picked up these mangoes that had fallen on the ground  after a storm on Monday night.

Homeguard jawan Mahesh  reached the shop and asked the women to give him mangoes for free. When she refused, he started hitting her on her head with a stick.

When her sister-in-law Mohini came to rescue, she too was beaten up.  

Vimla was declared dead by doctors in the hospital. Dr. Manoj Pal of Bijawar government hospital said that Vimla had died of head injury. The body has been sent for post mortem.

Mohini has been referred to Chhatarpur hospital in a serious condition. TI Ashutosh Kumar said that the accused is absconding and will be arrested soon.
