Madhya Pradesh/ Speculations over Congress state president intensify, Jyotiraditya Scindia could not meet Sonia Gandhi

  • Speculations were being made that a decision about the appointment of the new state president of MP could be taken in the meeting
  • Scindia said- I attended the screening committee meeting for Maharashtra elections

Bhopal: Congress General Secretary Jyotiraditya Scindia’s proposed meeting with Congress National President Sonia Gandhi could not take place in New Delhi on Tuesday. After this, speculations are rife regarding the appointment of the new president of Madhya Pradesh in the party’s high-level meeting on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Scindia told the media only that he had to attend the screening committee meeting for Maharashtra elections. “I did not ask for any separate time to meet the party president. The party high command has called a meeting of the party state chiefs and leaders of the opposition on Thursday,” he said.

However, Chief Minister Kamal Nath is unlikely to participate in this meeting. The reason for this is that his programmes are already scheduled. The meeting will be attended by state general secretary in-charge Deepak Babaria. Babaria says that the party high command has to take a decision on the new state president. The party president can make a decision about this at any time after consulting the state leaders.

At the same time, there is still a fierce battle in Madhya Pradesh regarding the new state president. Scindia’s proposed meeting with Sonia meant that some way could be found out about the state president. This led to Scindia supporters camping in Delhi.
