Madhya Pradesh: Panic in Shivpuri villages after frequent sighting of leopard, fears of man-animal conflict

Shivpuri: There is panic among villagers after a leopard has been seen repeatedly in five villages adjacent to the Karera forest of the district. The Forest Department has warned the people to remain alert of the leopard and stay in their homes after evening triggering fears of man-animal conflict.

Deputy Ranger of Amola region, Naval Singh, told that the forest department has proclaimed in the villages and warned the villagers to stay alert about their safety. The leopard who is an adult has also been seen by the forest department team.

According to many villagers living in tribal settlements of villages Amola, Rampura, Talpur, Amola Crusher and Amola of Karera region, the leopard has been seen wandering near the villages several times.

Residents of these villages Ramcharan Adivasi and Nathuram Adivasi and others said that after spotting the leopard in these villages many times, the information was given to the forest department.

They told that despite the heat wave people hide in their homes in the evening and they come out only when they get up in the morning. They also keep the cattle inside the enclosure.
