Madhya Pradesh/ Lokayukta traps Forest Deputy Ranger, Guard taking bribe in Morena

Morena: A deputy ranger and a forest guard of Ambah in Morena district were arrested by the Lokayukta police Friday while taking a bribe of Rs 14,000.

Lokayukta Superintendent of Police, Gwalior, Sanjeev Sinha said that Ambah Deputy Ranger Keshav Prasad Sharma had caught one Hakim Singh’s vehicle while it was transporting timber. To settle the matter, he had asked Hakim to pay a bribe of Rs 60,000. Later the deal was done for Rs 40,000.

Hakim reached the SDO office to pay a bribe of Rs 14,000 as the first installment. The money was taken by Forest Guard Gajendra Singh Bhadauria. Meanwhile, the Lokayukta police caught him.

A case has been initiated against the accused Deputy Ranger Keshav Prasad Sharma and Forest Guard Gajendra Singh Bhadauria under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
