Tikamgarh: Incidents of rapes and attempt to rape continue to shake the state. In the latest incident, a 15-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped and gang raped by two of her relatives, who also beat her up severely, hit her head with a stone and left her for dead in Satrai village of Tikamgarh district, in Madhya Pradesh.

The minor was spotted on Thursday morning in the Satrai forest with severe injuries. She had remained unconscious in the open overnight while it was raining, sources said.

First she was admitted to Tikamgarh district hospital but looking at her condition, she was referred to Gwalior. Police have however booked only one accused – Hariram Kushwaha, 32, who is a cousin of the survivor – in the case, though she and her family members have insisted that another kin Lakhan was also involved in the abduction and rape.

According to the survivor, the two youths had abducted her on a bike when she was on her way to lodge a police complaint late on Wednesday night.

A dispute over land erupted between two groups of the same family on Wednesday. The accused Ghansu Kushwaha, Mukundi Kushwaha, Lakhan and Hariram reached the victim’s home and began assaulting her family members.

The survivor was also chased and she tried to run towards the Khargapur police station when the two accused abducted her on the pretext of taking her to the police station.

Spotted by villagers

They took her to the nearby jungle, beat her and left after raping her. She was spotted by the villagers in the morning when they informed the police.

Inspector Jitendra Verma of Khargapur police station said, “The accused, Hariram Kushwaha (32) abducted the victim, raped her and then tried to kill her by hitting her head with a stone.
On the basis of the girl’s statement, we have booked Hariram for rape, attempt to murder and kidnapping under relevant sections of the IPC and the Protection of Children From Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. A hunt is on for him.”

Teenager booked for raping minor in Bhopal

Sheopur gang rape video viral, two held

Police in Sheopur district arrested two accused for attempting to rape a minor and making the video of the incident viral on the social media. Shivdayal Gurjar, SP said that two accused Ramu (21) and Aman (24), resident of Balapura Village were arrested. They had fled the spot when the victim raised an alarm after which the villagers came to her rescue.

Attempt to rape minor in district hospital

Meanwhile, in a matter of attempted rape on a minor patient in the district hospital’s toilet in Ashoknagar on Tuesday, the administration served a notice to a nurse and the security agency two days after the incident.

In the notice to the security agency, a warning has been issued to cancel its contract as the security guards were generally found sitting together instead of patrolling or at times sleeping.
