Madhya Pradesh: Four crocodiles found dead in Shivpuri village, suspected to be poisoned

Shivpuri: Four crocodiles were found dead beside a pond in Sinhvas village of Madhya Pradesh’s Shivpuri district.

Initially people thought the reptiles were alive and tried to put them back into the water by tying them with ropes. But soon they realised that the crocodiles were dead.

However, it is not yet known what caused the crocodiles’ death but it is suspected they were poisoned.

A team of state forest department has reached the spot. The bodies of the crocodiles had been sent to the national park for autopsy.

Locals said that some people had put fishes into the pond. They have expressed apprehension that the crocodiles have been poisoned.

Villagers have complained to the forest department and the police.
