Madhya Pradesh/ Four children die as school van falls into pit in Shajapur

  • Accident occurred in village Richhoda, 15 km from Shajapur, 22 children were on board the van

Shajapur: A school van fell into a pit filled with water on Friday afternoon. Four children died in this accident. There were 22 children in the van. 18 children have been rescued and admitted to the nearest hospital. The accident took place in village Richhoda, 15 km from the district headquarters.

22 children studying at the Advance Academy boarded a van to go home after school. The driver was reversing the van when it fell into a well. This pit was only a short distance away from the school. Seeing the van fall into the pit, the people around jumped into the well to save the children.

This was later reported to the police and administration. After this, the SP and Collector reached the spot. The villagers took the children out, after which the children were rushed to the hospital. The doctors there declared four children dead. Children named Ayush, Divya and Sandeep died in the accident. Ayush and Divya are brother and sister.

Chief Minister has expressed grief over the accident. He said instructions had been issued for immediate relief work. My condolences to the families of the children who died in the accident.
