Madhya Pradesh/ BJP rebel MLA Narayan Tripathi again changes side, says – I never joined Congress

  • Narayan Tripathi did cross-voting during the monsoon session of Vidhan Sabha in July
  • Had criticised BJP while sitting next to the Chief Minister inside the assembly, now change his tone again

Bhopal: BJP rebel MLA Narayan Tripathi once again switched sides. Narayan Tripathi, who reached the BJP office with former minister Narottam Mishra on Tuesday, said that he had never joined the Congress. False news of his involvement in Congress was spread. State President Rakesh Singh was also present on this occasion.

Rakesh Singh said that Narayan Tripathi is in BJP only. He never took membership of Congress. On the question of cross-voting in the assembly, he said that his vote in favor of the bill had gone along with the ruling party by mistake. He never spoke of leaving the BJP.

Will campaign in Jhabua by-poll: Narayan Tripathi said that he is also going to campaign in Jhabua by-election on Tuesday. He also said that after the removal of Article 370 from Kashmir, he had also tweeted praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi. ‘I have been meeting Chief Minister Kamal Nath for the development of my constituency and will continue to meet him even further,’ he said.

Had switched side in July: During the Vidhan Sabha session in July, two BJP MLAs Narayan Tripathi (Maihar) and Sharad Cole (Beohari) did cross voting. After this, both in the presence of Chief Minister Kamal Nath had made serious allegations against BJP and former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh.

During this time, both the MLAs announced their support to the Congress government. Narayan Tripathi described it as his homecoming. Tripathi was a Congress MLA before joining BJP in 2014. Sharad Cole was also the vice president of the Congress in Shahdol before the 2018 assembly elections.
