Madhya Pradesh/ BJP appointed Khajuraho MP VD Sharma as state president, to replace Rakesh Singh

Bhopal: BJP has appointed VD Sharma, MP from Khajuraho as the new state president of party’s Madhya Pradesh unit. He will replace Rakesh Singh. On Saturday, the party’s national general secretary Arun Singh issued a letter and announced Sharma’s name.

It is being told that Sharma was the first choice of the Sangh. He was associated with the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) for a long time. He has also held the post of State General Secretary in the BJP organization. Sharma thanked the top leadership for making him the state president. He tweeted and said-

Sharma is active in politics for 32 years: Vishnu Dutt Sharma is originally from Morena district of Madhya Pradesh. Has been active in politics for almost 32 years. Started with ABVP. In the Chambal region, he is considered to be a big Brahmin face of the BJP. Sharma made several movements during his political career. A padyatra was also organized against corruption, which started from Balaghat. He also did a lot of study on pollution in Narmada and filed a case with NGT. Sharma is identified as a grassroots leader.


  • Joined the ABVP in 1987.
  • Was ABVP MP state secretary from 1993 to 1994.
  • Was the ABVP state organization secretary from 2001 to 2007.
  • Thereafter took the position of National Secretary of ABVP.
  • He was the Regional Organization Secretary of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh from 2007 to 2017.
  • Was national general secretary of ABVP from 2007 to 2009. After this, he became the MP state general secretary in the BJP organization.
  • In 2015, he became the Deputy Chairman of the Nehru Yuva Kendra Board of Governors.
  • The Modi government at the Center had entrusted this responsibility and gave him status of minister of state.
  • Elected Lok Sabha member from Khajuraho in 2019.

MSc in Agriculture and Agronomy from Gwalior: Sharma completed Higher Secondary in 1985-86. After this, he did his B.Sc in Agriculture from Gwalior Agricultural College in 1989-91 and after his MSc in Agriculture and Agronomy from Gwalior’s Agricultural College.

Shivraj said – Workers will work with renewed vigor and new enthusiasm: Shivraj Singh Chouhan tweeted and congratulated VD Sharma. Said- I am confident that under Sharma’s leadership, the party will attain new heights. The former CM also praised the tenure of Rakesh Singh.
