Large-scale trafficking of boys and girls from Nepal continues unabated

Patna: Human traffickers engaged in trafficking of young girls and boys in areas close to India-Nepal border book many seats in buses plying from Delhi to Patna.

Sources said the agents provide seat numbers to the victims and they sit on the allotted seats. The police of the border areas and the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) cops are not much successful in checking human trafficking.

Interestingly, traffickers have the nationality of both the countries. On December 8, 2015 the SSB had freed 53 boys and girls from the clutches of traffickers. Among them were 14 girls, seven minor girls and 33 youths.

All of them were Nepal residents. The traffickers were taking them to Jaipur via Patna.

On Thursday the police arrested a woman human trafficker and two others from a private bus and handed them over to Nepal police. The suspects told police that human traffickers have the nationality of both Nepal and India.
