[dropcap]L[/dropcap]alit Modi, the former IPL chairman, announced the death of his wife Minal and wrote on Twitter, “You have been my life and my journey.” She was 64.
Modi, 53, is the former chairman of the Indian Premier League, but he left India after being charged with money laundering.
“My love, my life, my soulmate…You are finally at peace, and I am sure you will be watching over us,” Modi, who is currently in London, wrote in a Twitter post on Tuesday morning.

Lalit Modi did not reveal the cause of his wife’s death, but it is known that she suffered from cancer, on and off, for 20 out of the couple’s 27 years of marriage.
The couple had tied the knot in October 1991. This was Minal’s second marriage. Her daughter from the first marriage with Jack Sagrani, Karima, is married to Gaurav, son of Monica and Vivek Burman of the Dabur group. Minal and Nirav Modi have two children Ruchir and Aliya Modi.
