Krutika Desai seeks inspiration from Kareena Kapoor’s tribal look in Asoka

Popular Gujarati actor Krutika Desai, who forayed into Hindi television with Main Bhi Ardhangini will now be seen in the upcoming episode of Laal Ishq. She will be essaying the role of a tribal woman Vaisakhi.

Unlike her earlier role that brought out the glamorous side of the actress, Krutika will now have a simple yet uniquely styled ‘Adivasi’ look to her appearance.

Alongside focusing the efforts towards performance, Krutika wanted to create the character look and texture more authentic. And for this, she took it upon herself to research with inputs from the production team to self-style her ‘Adivasi’ look.

Krutika also focused on sourcing authentic tribal jewellery: She worked diligently on not only getting the right outfit and makeup but also focused on sourcing authentic tribal jewellery like heavy oxidized jewelry and antique styled Kadas to complete the look.

Talking about it, the actor says, “I believe a character’s appearance and style matters a lot while bringing alive its traits and characteristics on screen. I was always intrigued with styling a characters’ look and when I got this role, I thought it was a perfect opportunity. Playing a tribal woman was new and I was as excited about styling the look.”

She says further: “Honestly, Kareena Kapoor’s tribal look in the movie Asoka inspired me a lot. Therefore, I incorporated certain aspects from it to create my own unique tribal look. There is so much research that goes into creating the character’s look and style. I thoroughly enjoyed learning and working on this. It has come out really well and I am looking forward to knowing the audience’s reaction to it.”
